- Abstrak (max. 1600 huruf atau 250 kata): This research explains ECOWAS’s response to the military coup that occurred in Guinea in 2021. Using the theory of international organizations, ECOWAS, as an international organization, has the authority to respond to the coup in Guinea. International organizations can play a crucial role in addressing various types of conflicts, both internal and international. This research employs a descriptive research method, utilizing primary data sources through literature studies and qualitative data analysis techniques. ECOWAS’s responses include suspending Guinea’s membership, imposing sanctions on the military junta, and sending envoys to address the Guinea crisis. The findings indicate that, although ECOWAS’s responses and sanctions against the coup in Guinea in 2021 did not completely resolve the conflict, they helped de-escalate tensions and exert pressure on the military junta.
