- Abstrak (max. 1600 huruf atau 250 kata): The research entitled “Indonesian Goverments’s Efforts in Handing Plastic Wasted Imports”. This research conducts a study of the efforts made by the Indonesian government in handling plastic waste imports which surged in 2018. This spike was triggered by China’s National Sword Policy, namely the policy to stop importing waste so that waste trade flows had a significant impact on Indonesia. This research uses qualitative methods with descriptive research type. The research uses secondary data obtained using the library research method. These various methods are used to describe the Indonesian government’s efforts since the surge in plastic waste imports occurred in 2018. The results of the study show that the Indonesian Government’s efforts in handling plastic waste imports are the Implementation of the Basel Convention Ban Amendment through Permendag No. 92 of 2019. With this legal instrument, the government has formed a Waste Import Task Force and Surveyors who are responsible for controlling waste imports in Indonesia. In addition, clear laws are enforced for corporate actors who import waste. The second effort is to maximize the use of domestic waste.
