It is marked by the severance of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2016 that has caused internal and external impacts. The internal impact is a decreasing in their bilateral relations, and the external impact is on partner countries with Saudi Arabia and Iran and Middle East Region causing instability. Despite the efforts from third parties such as Indonesia, Switzerland, and Iraq to help normalize the relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran, the relations between the two countries have not improved. Thus, this study aims to analyze the potential for the normalization of relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran between the year 2016 to 2022.
