  • Abstrak (max. 1600 huruf atau 250 kata): This research aims to describe the Japan-Ukraine cooperation in addressing nuclear leak after the explosion of a nuclear power plant of Fukushima Daiichi. This type of research is descriptive which describe ukraine technical assistance to Japan after the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear leak through Fukushima / Chernobyl Joint Observation Satellite Project and exchange of information. The data presented is secondary data obtained through a review of the literature such as books, the Internet, and others. The analysis technique used is the technique of qualitative analysis. The results showed that Japanese – Ukrainian cooperation is cooperation to promote post – accident response and the steps taken after the Fukushima nuclear reactor leak daichii in the recovery and protection of the living conditions of residents and emergency response plans. This partnership is based on agreement between the two parties which country consent or agreement made ineffective at the moment. Because the Japanese government has not received a written notice from the Ukrainian government about whether or not completed the necessary domestic procedures in the agreement as it is written in the Agreement between countries Article V. As for the cooperation implemented namely 1) Exchange of information, where cooperation is aimed at the promotion of human security in both countries and the international community. 2) Fukushima / Chernobyl Joint Observation Satellite Project, a joint project of Japan–Ukraine satellite monitoring. 3) The exchange of experts, in an effort to improve the level of safety of nuclear installations together and share their expertise.
