- Abstrak (max. 1600 huruf atau 250 kata): This study examines the efforts of the East Kalimantan Provincial Government in addressing peatland rehabilitation and restoration through a case study of the FCPF-CF program in Muara Siran Village, Kutai Kartanegara Regency during 2022–2024. The objectives are to identify provincial policies and implementation strategies, evaluate the effectiveness of technical and non-technical interventions, and assess challenges and opportunities for restoring peatland ecosystems and improving local livelihoods. The research employs a qualitative case study approach document and monitoring report analysis. Data were analyzed thematically. The FCPF-CF interventions contributed to improved peat hydrology, increased restoration vegetation cover in priority areas, and greater community awareness and participation. However, effectiveness was constrained by limited sustainable financing, local technical capacity gaps, land tenure conflicts, and pressures from agricultural expansion and land opening. Recommendations include strengthening long-term financing, enhancing technical capacity and community-based monitoring, clarifying land-use mechanisms and conflict resolution, and integrating restoration programs with sustainable livelihood alternatives. These findings offer policy-relevant insights to improve provincial and local peatland restoration implementation.
