- Abstrak (max. 1600 huruf atau 250 kata): This study aims to explain the reasons for the Millennium Challenge Account- Indonesia is involved in contributing to development in Indonesia, especially the case study of Teluk Sumbang village from 2011 to 2022. The type of research used is explanatory. The data used are primary and secondary types of data obtained through the results of depth interviews and digital library reviews from books, journals, reports, documents, and internet sources that contain relevant data and information related to research conducted by the author. The concept used is the Green Economy Concept, with a focus on Renewable Energy. The results showed that the reason why the Indonesian government involved the role of MCAI in providing renewable energy based on solar power plants in Teluk Sumbang Village. That Teluk Sumbang village is one of the farthest areas on the east coast of Berau regency that does not have a PLN subsidized electricity network. Due to the slow factor of regional development on the connecting roads between villages, the lack of population growth is due to the low population mobilization in the village every year, and the location of settlements that are far from each other’s electricity distribution sources. So the government involves MCAI in overcoming this dependence by encouraging the provision of renewable energy based on village solar power plants through a compact grant program sourced from the Millennium Challenge Corporation.
