The purposes of this research is to describe and explain the reasons of the rejection of Spain on Catalonia’s independence referendum in 2014. This type of research is descriptive analysis that explains the reasons for refusal Spain and using National Interest and Referendum Theory.The results of this research indicates that the reasons for the rejection of Catalonia’s independence referendum divided into three factors, namely the law, economic, and politics.This case shows that the desire of the regions within a country to escape must have a legal basis and a strong reason why the region should be independent. Spain Rejections coupled with strong fundamentals that the emancipation is not an easy thing for a region.
