- Abstrak (max. 1600 huruf atau 250 kata): Fishery products are a major aspect of trade relations between Indonesia and the United States. 90% of the United States fishery product market comes from imported products, making the demand for fish from the United States high. This study aims to explain the strategies carried out by the government in increasing fisheries production to the United States in 2014-2017 by using descriptive research methods and using the theoretical basis of absolute advantage by Adam Smith and economic diplomacy from KS Rana. The results of this study indicate that the strategies carried out by the government in increasing exports of fishery products to the United States through internal and external strategies. In carrying out the internal strategy, the government issued a new policy in tackling the problem of IUU fishing to increase product quality requirements in order to meet the appropriate standards of the destination country. While in the external strategy, Indonesia participated in the promotional activities of the SENA exhibition held in Boston and established maritime cooperation with the United States on October 24, 2015 which was listed in the form of a memorandum of understanding and agreed upon by both countries.
