- Abstrak (max. 1600 huruf atau 250 kata): The study research has a purpose to describe the reasons for ratification delay Rome Statute in 1998 by the Indonesian government. This is a descriptive study, which aimed to find out what are the reasons to postpone the Indonesian government ratified the Rome Statute of 1998. This study used quslitative research methods. In this study the authors use the concept of National Interest and Asian Value concept that are used is to perform the analysis in this study. Data analysis technique is qualitative analysis. The results showed that the Indonesian government reason to postpone ratifying the Rome Statute of 1998 is based on the national interests of Indonesia, where the Indonesian government considers that there are some provisions in the Rome Statute of 1998 quite burdensome with regard to economic, political, legal, social and historically Indonesia.
