- Abstrak (max. 1600 huruf atau 250 kata): This study aims to describe and explain the role of Japan Foundation in expanding Japanese language in Indonesia and explaining programs made by this organization with the purpose to change Japan image after World War II. This problem will be analyzed with acculturation and cultural diplomacy theory that is explained and analyzed how Japan Foundation using language as an instrument for cultural diplomacy to achieve its goal. This study indicates that Japan Foundation as an agent of acculturation plays a big role to expand Japanese language as Indonesian people gave a big interest to Japanese culture.
