- Abstrak (max. 1600 huruf atau 250 kata): Water scarcity is an issue that occurs in several regions in the world, one of which is in the Middle East. Several countries in the Middle East, such as Jordan, Israel, and Palestine, are countries that geographically share a common area including the Jordan River, mountains, the Dead Sea and coastal aquifers. The water scarcity that occurred then had the most impact on Palestine as a country that is still not fully sovereign due to the occupation carried out by Israel. Until now, Palestine has experienced water scarcity as a result of the conflict with Israel. The consumption and water supply needs obtained by Palestine have experienced a deficit and an effort is needed to overcome this. As a result of the water conflict that caused Palestine to experience water scarcity, in 1994 EcoPeace Middle East was founded, a non-profit organization as an effort for Arab-Israeli peace. Eco Peace Middle East unites Jordanian, Palestinian and Israeli environmental activists. The general goal of EcoPeace Middle East is to advance sustainable development and peace to unite the environment between Jordan, Palestine and Israel. EcoPeace Middle East centers are spread across several regions, namely Amman, Bethlehem and Tel-Aviv. This organization has the main goal of working together to protect the common environment and to advance regional development in order to achieve lasting peace in the Jordan, Palestine and Israel regions. Ecopeace Middle East is part of the effort to resolve the Arab-Israeli conflict, but is specifically expected to address water scarcity in Palestine. From 2001 Ecopeace Middle East has already done some efforts like Good Water Neighbors (GWN) to overcome water scarcity. But still, it’s effort doesn’t work effective cause Palestine still has the worst water scarcity than others country. This is because as a country that is still vulnerable and does not yet have full sovereignty, Palestine needs a sustainable solution with the help of other countries. Ecopeace Middle East is making other efforts to address the water scarcity that is still occurring, especially in Palestine. In 2017 to 2020, there were several efforts such as the rehabilitation of the Jordan River, Water-Energy Nexus and ongoing education carried out by Ecopeace Middle in addressing the issue of water scarcity, one of which was for Palestine.
