- Abstrak (max. 1600 huruf atau 250 kata): This research aims to describe the regardings the Efforst of the Muara Tae Indigenous Community in defending forest from deforestasion. This research is a descriptive research type with primary data from interview and secondary data source. Obtained book, Journals, articles, official publication, internet acces and credible litelatures, Then, to explain the research question the writers uses Social Movement. The results of this research, show that the efforts made by the Muara Tae indigenous community in defending their forest from deforestation are by carrying out a resistance movement against the oil palm plantation company PT Borneo Surya Mining Jaya which opened oil palm plantations which received opposition from the Muara Tae community, and the efforts of the resistance movement against the company continued from 2012 to 2019 but due to the pandemic the movement’s efforts were temporarily suspended. The movement carried out by the Muara Tae indigenous community can at least maintain the customary forest that can still be maintained.
