  • Abstrak (max. 1600 huruf atau 250 kata): The objective of this descriptive study is to examine and describe Colombian goverment interests on its participation in NATO’s program, Cooperative Security Through Partnership, using secondary data resources where the problem will be analyzed by the use of the theories of collective security and national interest concept. The results described Colombia’s interests in CSTP NATO which are political interests and security and defense interests.Colombia’s political interests are to show the capabilities of its government to the Colombian citizens and international society in order to regain and increase its credibility in front of both the Colombians and the international society, in terms of resolving its national security issues. Colombia’s security and defense interests are to reinforce and to upgrade the quality of Colombian National Armed Forces through military collective trainings with NATO, and to increase and intensify bilateral and multilateral cooperations on security sector, especially with NATO countries.
