- Abstrak (max. 1600 huruf atau 250 kata): The sovereignty of a country is an authentic rights that must be owned by a country. One characteristic of a country that has sovereignty intact is having distinct territory. Air space above the territory of Indonesia can’t be separated from the threat like passed of other countries plane with low altitude without permission and can be considered to threaten the national security of Indonesia. With the existing threats, Indonesia in cooperation with South Korea in the manufacture of jet fighter for maintain territorial sovereignty Indonesia. The characteristics of this research is eksplanatif with qualitative analysis technique, by using national interest concept and military security theory. The results of this study were Indonesian reasons to cooperate manufacture of jet fighter to achieve self-reliance of defense equipment, develop engineering capabilities of Indonesian engineers and to strengthen security system and protect the airspace Indonesia.
