Sektor pariwisata merupakan komponen penting dari perekonomian Indonesia, dan Pangandaran merupakan salah satu tujuan pariwisata populer di Jawa Barat yang berkontribusi dalam perekonomian Indonesia.Namun, karena bencana tsunami pada tahun 2006 sangat mempengaruhi pariwisata di Pangandaran.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa proyek STREAM telah membuat Pangandaran sebagai daerah pariwisata yang tahan terhadap perubahan iklim dan mampu meningkatkan kunjungan wisatawan, baik lokal maupun asing.Penelitian ini juga menunjukkan efektivitas dari program STREAM di Pangandaran.Salah satu faktor keberhasilan proyek ini adalah keterlibatan masyarakat lokal dan masyarakat sekitar selama proyek dilaksanakan.Proyek STREAM di Pangandaran dilaksanakan oleh UNWTO bersama-sama dengan Kementerian Indonesia Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif.
