Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah jenis penelitian deskriptif, yang memaparkan dan memberikan gambaran tentang dinamika konflik antara LRA dengan pemerintah Uganda. Data yang digunakan adalah data sekunder yang di peroleh melalui telaah pustaka dan literatur seperti buku, internet dan lain-lain. Teknik analisa yang digunakan adalah teknik analisa kualitatif.
    Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keberadaan dari kelompok LRA di Uganda, Kongo, Sudan sedikit banyak telah mempengaruhi kehidupan sosial dan ekonomi masyarakatnya, karena banyak sekali kejahatan yang sudah dilakukan oleh pasukan LRA terhadap masyarakat di wilayah tersebut sebagai bagian dari pemberontakan mereka. Dalam melakukan aksinya, pihak LRA tidak segan-segan bertindak kasar bahkan terkesan anarkis seperti menculik anak laki-laki untuk dijadikannya pasukan tentara, LRA juga mengajari tentara belia tersebut untuk bisa tega membunuh walaupun yang dibunuh adalah orang tua dan saudara sendiri. Bagi anak perempuan, mereka dijadikan budak seks oleh para tentara Kony.

Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksplanatif, dimana penulis menjelaskan alasan pemerintah AS mengambil kebijakan untuk memperkuat kerjasama dan aliansi militernya di Asia Pasifik. Data-data yang disajikan adalah data sekunder yang diperoleh melalui telaah pustaka dan literatur-literatur seperti buku, internet, dan lain-lain. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu Illustrative Method dan Network Analysis.

    Pasca serangan teroris 9/11, kebijakan militer luar negeri AS difokuskan untuk memfasilitasi demokratisasi di kawasan Timur Tengah sebagai fondasi penting dalam hal memerangi terorisme yang merupakan ancaman bagi keamanan internasional. Kebijakan tersebut terus berlangsung hingga berakhirnya perang Irak pada Agustus 2010 dan dimulainya proses transisi dalam pemerintahan Afghanistan di awal tahun 2011 menyebabkan AS menutup basis militer dan menarik mundur pasukannya secara bertahap dari wilayah Timur Tengah. Pada November 2011, pemerintah AS mengumumkan perubahan fokus dalam kebijakan militer luar negerinya bahwa AS akan menempatkan kawasan Asia Pasifik sebagai prioritas utama dalam kebijakan militernya.
