As for Russia’s national interests in the establishment of the SCO is perceived interests and desired by Russia as a sovereign state, which consists of: economic interest for improving the country’s economy through economic ties with China and other countries in Central Asia, especially in the case of oil and natural gas; political interests and security to protect its citizens, its territory, and maintaining its political system from the threat and influence of another country; ideological interests to defend or protect the state ideology in the countries of Central Asia from the threat of another state ideology.
