- Abstrak (max. 1600 huruf atau 250 kata): This study aims to find out the reasons for the expansion of Russian territory in the Arctic Sea in the 2015-2020 period. This research is a qualitative explanatory research using secondary data. The results of the study show that the reason Russia is expanding its territory in the Arctic Sea is that efforts to explore natural resources in the Arctic Sea are influenced by geopolitical factors which are divided into geoeconomic and geostrategic. Several factors supporting Russia’s efforts in expansion in the Arctic region are natural resources such as oil and natural gas, northern trade routes, security of the Arctic Sea region and as a place of technological knowledge by Russia.
