In this research, the author aims to describe and explain the efforts that UNHCR has made in dealing with the problem of Cameroonian refugees in Nigeria from 2017-2020. The discussion in this paper uses the concept of International Organizations and also the concept of Refugees themselves. The type of research used in this research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Then the type of data obtained is secondary data collected using library study methods or techniques. The results of the research explain and show that UNHCR’s efforts in handling Cameroonian refugees in Nigeria in 2017-2020 have two roles. The first role, UNHCR as a Determinator to grant refugee status through the Refugee Status Determinator (RSD) mechanism. After determining refugee status, UNHCR will then provide further assistance and protection to the refugees and seek the best solution for them. The second role is UNHCR as a facilitator by facilitating government cooperation with international organizations, providing assistance to Cameroonian refugees to obtain shelter, health services, shelter and education. Collaborative efforts were carried out by UNHCR together with other organizations in order to realize a more effective and optimal distribution of aid, this is in accordance with the concept of international organizations.
