  • Abstrak (max. 1600 huruf atau 250 kata): Sexual harassment is an act of coercion to rule over others that greatly harms its victim. Sexual harassment does not look at gender, men and women can experience sexual harassment but women are more vulnerable to experiencing it. Sexual harassment can also occur in any level of society regardless of social status. Sexual harassment is a heinous crime, victims can lose their lives or live by feeling the effects for life. Sexual harassment has become a violation related to human rights issues, so The Convention on the Ellimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) comes into existence as an international law on women’s rights initiated by the United Nations to protect women from discrimination. Even though prevention has been carried out, sexual harassment still occurs. Until the emergence of various anti-sexual harassment movements, such as the Me Too Movement which became one of the movements against sexual harassment from the United States founded by Tarana Burke since 2006. Until 2017 the Me Too Movement was better known as #MeToo when United States Actress Alyssa Milano revealed the sexual harassment she experienced against United States Film Producer Harveiy Weinstein, the movement #MeToo inspired American women in fighting sexual harassment and the #MeToo movement began to spread in various countries through social media, such as France, Italy, England, India, Japan, South Korea and Tiongkok. #MeToo movement in Tiongkok is expected to bring hope to survivors of sexual harassment like in the United States, but the #MeToo movement in Tiongkok has encountered obstacles due to differences in state ideology, government response and patriarchal culture that has existed in Tiongkok society.
