Under direct supervising of Mr. Chairul Aftah S.IP.MIA as the main advisor, Department of International Relations, Faculty of Social and Political Scinces, Mulawarwan Univesity. 2022 This study aims to determine the effect of the 2018 Kerch Strait incident on the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The research method used is descriptive with the type of secondary data/analytical technique used is qualitative. The concepts used are conflict theory and conflict escalation theory and Realism. The results of this study indicate that de facto territorial changes in the Crimean Peninsula that have joined the Russian Federation have created a new polemic in the Crimean Peninsula region. Attitudes and behaviors that create contradictions influence the conflict in different dimensions which have encouraged Russia and Ukraine to enhance each other’s military entities in the conflict between the two countries. The Kerch Strait incident led to an escalation of the conflict which developed into a higher level between the two countries in conflict, namely Russia and Ukraine
