  • Abstrak (max. 1600 huruf atau 250 kata): The current condition of vocational education in Indonesia using a competency-based curriculum has not satisfied the results, because at the time of curriculum development the assumption was that planned competencies did not change as long as students attended education while in fact the competency standards applied by the workforce as vocational education users ,always changing following developments in science and technology. To improve the quality of vocational education in Indonesia which is still lagging behind other countries, the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) and the Indonesian Ministry of Technology and Higher Education Research (Kemenristekdikti) have signed cooperation in the fields of education, teaching and research with the Department of Education and Australia & Training (DET) in the field of education contained in the Indonesian collaboration & Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IA-CEPA) was approved on February 26, 2017. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the cooperation between Indonesia and Australia in improving vocational education contained in the IA-CEPA agreement was implemented by the Indonesian government through several vocational education revitalization activities including , preparation and adaptation of curriculum, work practices or student exchanges, teaching factory, graduate competency certification, addition and improvement of learning facilities, provision and improvement of the quality of teachers or instructors. The results of the collaboration between Indonesia and Australia in improving vocational education with Indonesia in 2017 up to 2018 can be seen in the increasing number of graduates, teachers, education staff and classrooms in vocational education. This is a development of the IA-CEPA program that accelerates the improvement of vocational education in Indonesia.
