• Abstrak (max. 1600 huruf atau 250 kata): The Purpose of this research is to describe factors which pushed ASEAN to attain and makes an efforts in Conflict Settlement of Spratly Islands Claims in 2000-2010, where the conflict has occurred in a long period and there is no any indication to subside. Type of the study is descriptive analysis, to describe phenomenon based on occurred facts. In this case is ASEAN’s effort in conflict settlement.
  The data presented in this study is secondary data acquired through the study of literature such as books, articels, journals and news which is related to the main point of this study. Data collecting techniques based on a number of literatures and relevant to the matters of the study (books, journals, internet).
  Analysis techniques used are qualitative method, a method of research relating one to another relevant data with the main core of the study in this case ASEAN’s effort in conflict settlement of Spratly Islands to prevent an expand from the written sources.
  In the results of the study indicate that there is a connection between the main issue of ASEAN’s efforts in conflict settlement and involved countries desire to reduce in peaceful way and avoid an open conflict.
