- Abstrak (max. 1600 huruf atau 250 kata): This study aims to explains the reason behind Turkish intervention. The research method used in preparing this thesis is explanative type. Data collection techniques use literature studies or references related to research topics and the type of data used is secondary data. The analysis technique uses is qualitative. In this study, researcher used the concept of Intervention. The results of this study show that the reason of Turkish government to intervene in oil and gas exploration at Greek Cyprus because Turkey wants to protect the rights, interests, and safety of Turkish citizen at TRNC. Those acts are based on constitutionally that Republic of Cyprus can’t represent the whole Cyprus island. Furthermore, Turkish reason is also affected by the TRNC position as a protectorate of Turkey where the scholars have described the Turkey – TRNC relations as a mother land and baby land. Likewise, Turkey’s claim of violation of maritime boundaries by the Republic of Cyprus became Turkey’s reason for intervening.
