  • Abstrak (max. 1600 huruf atau 250 kata): This study aims to analyze and describe the efforts made by the Chinese Government in overcoming the East Turkistan Islamic Movement (ETIM) after the Tiananmen Square attack in 2013. The research method used is descriptive with secondary data types. The analysis technique used is qualitative. The concepts used are terrorism and counter-terrorism. The results of this study shows that the efforts of the Chinese Government are divided into internal efforts and external efforts. The internal efforts made by Chinese Government include affirmation of the PRC’s Criminal Law and ratification of the PRC’s own Counter-terrorism Law; enhance law enforcement operations in Xinjiang; general public assistance; promoting ethnic unity and fighting religious extremism, and; promoting economic growth. In addition to internal efforts, external efforts were also carried out by the Chinese Government in collaboration with an international organisation, that is Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO)
