REDD+ has not become part of a global deal on climate change, but is proposed to be included in the new agreement that will replace the Kyoto Protocol. In the meantime, REDD+ pilot schemes are being implemented and funding mechanisms being drafted UN agencies, international financial institutions, private companies, government and environmental organizations.
